Texas Society SAR Transfers
Transfers to Texas SAR Chapters:
Contact the new local Texas Society Chapter Secretary to assist with transfers. As always, please revise your current contact information and make your intentions clear.
Current Member Transfer from Another State Society
- For SAR members in good standing, the NSSAR Transfer Membership Application 0919 form is used for Out of State transfers into any Texas Society Chapter.
Since your other state membership is current, National Society fees are not needed, only the Texas Society and Chapter fees are necessary. Contact your new Texas Chapter Secretary to assist with this form. He will state your needed fee and will ask you to:
- Access the online 0919 form.
- Save it to your PC first then fill it out and print it; or print it blank and write-in your information. Indicate your old State Society & Chapter and the new Texas Society & Chapter.
- Attach a check payable to Texas SAR for the total of the Texas Society and Chapter fee. Another $10 fee can be avoided if you have a copy of your approved SAR Application record copy.
- Send him, the new Texas Chapter Secretary, the form with your part completed and check for processing.
- The form should be sent (email or US mail) to the old State Society Secretary with instructions to return it to the new Texas Chapter Secretary. The check should be held until the completed form is received from the old State Secretary.
- Once the new Texas Chapter Secretary receives the completed form, then he will mail both the completed form and check to the Texas Society Secretary for processing. The Texas Society Secretary will immediately deposit the check and send the form to National SAR for processing the State Society and Chapter change.
Inactive Member Transfer from Another State Society
- For SAR members NOT in good standing, the NSSAR Reinstatement-Transfer Application 0918 form is used for Out of State transfers into any Texas Society Chapter.
For reinstatement, National Society, Texas Society and Chapter fees are necessary. Contact your new Texas Chapter secretary to assist with this form. He will state your needed fee and will ask you to:
- Access the online 0918 form.
- Save it to your PC first then fill it out and print it; or print it blank and write-in your information. Indicate your old State Society & Chapter and the new Texas Society & Chapter.
- Attach a check payable to Texas SAR for the total of the National Society, Texas Society and Chapter fee.
Chapter Transfers within the Texas State Society
- For Texas SAR members in good standing, the Texas SAR Private Website Online Member Chapter Change Request form is used for primary chapter changes within the Texas Society. To use it, access the Texas SAR private site, Members tab and select Member Chapter Change Request Form. Contact a new chapter officer for more instructions to the private site access and features.
Your National Society member number is required. Fill out the form selecting both the chapter you wish to leave and the chapter you wish to transfer to. This will be your new primary chapter and indicated as such on your next Texas SAR Dues invoice in the fall. Some chapters require a copy of your approved SAR Application record copy. If so, a $10 fee can be avoided if you already have that record copy. Otherwise, only new chapter fees are necessary and they can be paid by either of the Texas Society SAR Dues methods above or give a check payable to Texas SAR to the new Texas Chapter Secretary for him to handle your Texas Chapter transfer.
- For Texas SAR members NOT in good standing for over a year, a Reinstatement form (see form 0918 above) will be needed. Use the reprint your Texas SAR Dues Invoice method above ensuring your desired primary Texas Society Chapter is indicated. In other words, pay your National Society, Texas Society and desired Chapter dues, provide the reinstatement form, and you will be reinstated. Some chapters require a copy of your approved SAR Application record copy. If so, a $10 fee can be avoided if you already have that record copy. Or give the completed form and check payable to Texas SAR to the new Texas Chapter Secretary for him to handle your reinstatment and Texas Chapter transfer.
