Dickie Dixon talking about the Cordova Rebellion.

At this time, Bob Ham introduced Dickie Dixon the speaker for the evening.  Dickie talked about the Cordova Rebellion in 1838, 2 years after Texas became a state.  Indians and hispanics, not far from Nacogdoches, tried to retake the territory.  It was a good talk and it was obvious that Dickie had done much research.   Bob thanked Dickie for the presentation and presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation.  Bob led the assemblage in the SAR Closing Admonition.  Meeting was adjourned about 8:15 PM

Fred Preston, Secretary.

NOTE: My excuse for the late minutes this time is twofold.  Having problems with Front Page using 'Save as'.  Also, the City of Lufkin changed internet providers so the site was totally unavailable from about May 29th to June17.
